Re-cores

With any cooling unit there is high probability that at some point within its life span there will be a cause of failure leading to the need for its replacement. Failure can result from vibration, corrosion, poor maintenance, or simply old age. Regardless of the symptomatic cause, a quick competitive solution is required. At G.D.M (Heat Transfer) Ltd we have the capabilities and expertise to utilise existing coolers to do exactly that.

Re-coring coolers is a cost effective alternative option to buying new. The process consists of replacing the old core matrix with a purpose built new core whilst re-using the original header tanks, brackets and connections where possible. The overall concept of re-coring coolers is basic, popular and very effective. Radiators, oil coolers, intercoolers, and after-coolers in all materials, such as aluminium, steel, stainless steel and copper are all subject to the possibility of re-coring. Where the recored cooler will be utilised in applications with high corrosion e.g. seawater, GDM can offer the option of having the unit sprayed with anti corrosion spray (Prosmatic) to maximise the life span.

Repairs

In addition to re-coring coolers, there are instances where repairing is possible. High pressure cleaning and pressure testing facilities allow G.D.M (Heat Transfer) Ltd to pin point cooler failures, with the potential of cosmetic repairs. Any repair is a temporary solution which enables customers to get by with limited inconvenience until a permanent remedy can be offered. 

Here at GDM our highly experienced and skilled workforce can test the units and repair if necessary, therefore bringing the upmost quality yet cost effective option to our customers. However in instances where the fuel tank cannot be repaired, GDM can manufacture fuel tanks to pattern.
